Effect of Hypophysectomy on Cardiovascular Actions of ACTH and STH
These experiments indicate that the pituitary adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and somato trophic hormone (STH) share the ability to produce hypertension, nephroselerosis, myocarditis and periarteritis nodosa in the intact rat. In the absence of the hypophysis rise in arterial pressure was less and no vascular lesions were observed.
