Retraction

After a finding by the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) that Dr Craig H. Gelband falsified data in the reporting of research and misrepresented current/voltage data to be results from different experimental models or preparations, Dr Gelband has requested retraction of Figure 5A from the following article previously published in Circulation Research:

Reaves PY, Gelband CH, Wang H, Yang H, Lu D, Berecek KH, Katovich, MJ, Raizada MK. Permanent cardiovascular protection from hypertension by the AT1 receptor antisense gene therapy in hypertensive rat offspring. Circ Res. 1999;85:e44–e50.

Based on the ORI findings, all coauthors involved in this study, other than Dr Gelband, had no knowledge of any scientific impropriety related to the collection, analysis, or presentation of data in this manuscript. Notice of the ORI findings of scientific misconduct against Dr Gelband can be found in the Federal Register (Volume 68, Number 217, pages 63797–63799).
