In the article that appeared on page 1118 of the May 9, 2008, issue, the composition of the pipette solution used to record cation currents in the whole-cell configuration was incomplete. In addition to containing EGTA (5 mmol/L), the pipette solution also contained CaCl2 to produce a free Ca2+ concentration of 100 nmol/L. The inclusion of CaCl2 in the pipette solution was omitted from the Materials and Methods section of the article. This methodological amendment does not alter any of the conclusions made in the article. The authors regret the error.
